Changing the flag salute because of the similarity to the Nazi salute sounds very pragmatic. I personally am not much in favor of loyalty oaths, especially directed towards a body of men who think they have the divine right to govern other people... Uh, like the American Government, yeah, that's what I meant. Oh wait, they're elected. Well, then, I'm really against the high-handed tactics and deceptive reasonings of the Mormon presidential council.
Of course, pragmatic changes are easier to make when the people want them and you are supposed to represent the people, instead of when reason and mercy demand the changes but you have long claimed that the old rules came direct from God.
