Hi Marilyn,

I have copies of every Watch Tower (Watchtower) magazine ever printed and have read many. I do read the latest versions every other week but my all time favorites are the 1940's.

As the 40's wear on the articles become weirder and weirder. It was almost like the hate and dogma spewed by Rutherford was amplified. Seems to me like every generation of Watch Tower Society leader becomes more like all the bad of those before only harder, stronger, sicker.

The power control, hate and manipulation previously done in magazines and books designed for public distribution is still done. Only now, since the Society discovered people tend to not contribute for publications they find offensive, they have moved their strong stuff over to secret books like "Pay Attention" and the insiders only "Our Kingdom Ministry".

To see the Watch Tower Society as it really is, that is, a subversive political machine planning to control the world through a world government run by them, it is hard to beat the Society's 1940's publications.

Easy to see why governments see them as a threat then and now. Then they were more honest about their goals. Now they have resorted to theocratic war strategy and double talk to continue their goal of world dominance.

When I was a child and heard Rutherford on a phonograph record say, "Religion is a snare and a racket!", I had no idea how much I would agree with him later in my life.

I would think that more governments would recognize political groups passing themselves off as religions and monitor them closer.
