It is pretty interesting that someone can have fun of deleting my posts because of my personal attackings. I wander how blind can they get when they ignored -mntzion- post regarding "Thoughts on Holidays"?

Yes, I'm talking about message that he posted to Alan on November 26, 1999, at 11:21:39, when he said to Alan: "And I suppose you don't salute the flag because you feel it...has special powers?"

I wander what part of history that mntzion know about flag saluting? Well let me remind him on some history of flag saluting.

"The original flag-salute ceremony proceeded as follows. Those participating stood facing the flag and recited the following pledge: "I pledge allegiance to my flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation indivisible, with liberty and justice for all." At the words, "to my flag" the right hand was extended, palm up and slightly raised, toward the flag. This position was held till the end of the pledge, after which the arm was dropped to the side. Amendments approved at the National Flag Conferences of 1923 and 1924 produced the pledge familiar until recently: "I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands; one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all." The similaity of the "stiff-arm" form of the salute to the hatered Nazi salute led Congress in 1942 to provide that the salute should be rendered by placing the right hand over the heart." -Render unto Caeser-, page 2-3 by David R. Manwaring 1962
