All the dating connected to number 14 has to do with the restoration of fallen mankind. And the time allowed to renew and develop salvation in Christ. Generations a symbol if restoration.
It might be the reason that there were 14 clean animals taken into the ark in Noahs day. What a nice picture of preserving the clean or rightous ones. They were the new generation.
Just a thought. I think we have much more to learn on this subject.
