I just walked away, and refused to give any explanation or talk to them. A few times, they have called me and surprised me, so I have been forced to talk to them. I always step "outside" so I don't let them in the house (I'd hate to have to ask them to LEAVE"). Then I make sure I control the conversation by asking questions about their elderly mother, the recent suicide, the weddings and the babies. At some point, they manage to say they've missed me at the meetings and I say "I've missed you too!" so sweetly.
When the elders called my husband and asked to make a "shepherding call" on both of us, he said that he would visit with them, but that I preferred not to. They seemed to accept that, but later an elder and his wife "surprised" me again.
Anyway, it's been a year and I've gotten by with this so far. I don't want them to have any power over me at all, so I refuse to DA myself, or let them DF me (although I realize they could if they wanted to, for any reason, or for no reason at all).
