the 5/15/95 WT devoted an article to "flashes of light" and referenced Proverbs 4:18. They explained their doctrinal changes as new "light".
I read the entire chapter of Prov. 4. It is advice from a father to a son on how to have a good long life. The son is advised against alcoholic drinks, using foul language, and bad associations. The son is encouraged to remember the wisdom of his father, safeguard his heart, keep his eyes straight ahead, and keep his feet on the straight and narrow path. By doing this, he will have a good long life with God's blessing.
The righteous one is guided by wisdom (light) during his path through life, whereas the wicked one will encounter gloom and stumble through his life. Proverbs 4:18 has absolutely nothign to do with advancing understanding of prophecy or changing doctrine. How could I not have seen this before? Why does no one else notice?
