I didn't find the arithmetical mistakes that AF mentioned, but Dr. Schroeder is still a quack. His work in physics is not to be laughed at, but he is in fairy land when he starts discussing Genesis.
He uses relativity to show that the Earth is both 6,000 years old and 4.5 billion. This is simple if you are willing to assign God finite mass, finite energy, a specific posistion, and a velocity near the speed of light. But Dr.Schroeder ignores any theological problems raised by this.
And his explanation falls completely flat when it comes to the order of creation presented in Genesis. The writer in Genesis simply got things in the wrong order. There is no way to explain why flying creatures and flowering vegetation are put in the wrong places. Not if you still want to believe Genesis is inspired that is.
Dr. Schroeder should stick with physics. We need loonies in physics.
