There is a speculation about the future held dear
to some members of the scientific community.
It goes like this: scientific knowledge is doubling
every few years. In addition, the rate at which such
knowledge grows is increasing ,too. Therefore, if you
look at the total mass of knowledge about the aging
process, it seems reasonable to expect that in 20
years, mankind's understanding of aging will be
virtually complete.
Put simply, if you can wait 20 years, they may "cure"
aging!
However, it's not a matter of merely waiting 20 years.
New supplements and treatments are emerging almost
daily to slow the aging process. A huge breakthrough
was made this past year, when it was discovered that
mitochrondrial defects are critical to aging. This
will cause a burst of research into agents that
protect these cellular components.
Anyhow, I continue to strongly recommend a subscription
to Life Extension magazine. I have no financial
interest in them, other than to wish them GodSpeed in
their cause. You won't find a better source of up to
date information.
Let's wipe out death in our lifetime.
