This is our second year of celebrating the holidays. Last year at Xmas time, we did the gifts and big dinner but didn't have a tree or decorations. My kids kept begging for a tree too.

So, yesterday we discussed what we would decorate a tree with if we had one. We came up with several non-religous, non-pagan things. Things like snowmen, snowflakes, teddy bears. We live in the south and the kids are facinated with snow.

What I've come to realize is that Holidays are just very special family times. It's a nice break from the normal everyday routines. Our former JW life seems so blah and strict. Even the Bible tells of the different celebrations that the Jews had. In my opinion, God doesn't mind if we take a few days to celebrate and enjoy ourselves.

Looking forward to a season of joy.
