1: Rev. 1:8 says that the Alpha and Omega is "the One who is and who was and who is coming."

2: Rev. 1:4 says that this "One who is and who was and who is to come" is the one sitting on the thrown. (The rest of Revelation places God the Father on that thrown.)

3: Rev. 1:5 seems to be saying that Jesus is someone other than "the One who is and who was and who is to come."

According to just the above verses, the Alpha and Omega is the One sitting on the thrown. The rest of Revelation says that that One is God the Father. Isn't verse 5 consistant with this conclusion when it shows that Jesus is someone other than the Alpha and the Omega (i.e. the One who is and who was and who is to come)?

If we go by just the above, it seems reasonable to conclude that Jesus must not be "the Alpha and the Omega."
