The pyramids are a very important part of the watchtowers past. Charles Russell used pyramid measurements to make his predictions of the end of time that was to occur in 1914. The WT would have you believe, and they've even stated such, that the 'Bible Students", which were Russell and his followers, looked forward to 1914 as the "End of the Gentile times", and nothing could be more of a lie. Russell, and his followers, believed, and this was the 'Doctrine of the day" right up until the 20's, that Christ had returned in 1874. 1914 was not to be the end of the "Gentile Times", but the end of all things as we know them.

Rutherford, after his "coup", denounced Russell for his believing in the pyramids as Satan worship. Notice the following:

"if the pyramid is not mentioned in the Bible, then following its teachings is being led by vain philosophy and false science and not following after Christ (The Watchtower 11/15/28, p. 341). "It is more reasonable to conclude that the great pyramid of Gizeh, as well as the other pyramids thereabout, also the sphinx, were built by the rulers of Egypt and under the direction of Satan the Devil .... Then Satan put his knowledge in dead stone, which may be called Satan's Bible, and not God's stone witness . . .(The Watchtower, 11/15/28

Can you imagine that!!! Saying that the founder of the WT was influenced by Satan? Well, if you follow more recent history of the org. you'll see the "Pot and Kettle" syndrome unfolding.
