: I am not an expert in this field.
We have observed.
So why not get yourself a little bit informed on the subject, by for example reading a few starter books, before assuming that the whole field of biology has been totally wrong since the 1920s (or earlier)?
Science is above all about what works. Scientists have been immensely successful in explaining life and battling diseases since they started applying evolutionary theory. During all these centuries when people believed in divine creation, they couldn't cure anything. The study of epidemology, to name one important example, is an exact, mathematical science based totally on neo-darwinistic evolution. It has been immensely successfull (whatever the Watchtower Society said about vaccinations in the 1920s and 30s). Do you think they've gotten the underlying explanation of life totally wrong, and yet been able to achieve such stunning successes?
