Ros, are you able to distinguish an "argument" from an "opinion"?
Cygnus is defending his views with reasons. You seem to think his view is merely an opinion.
Opinions often conflict. Which opinion is true?
That question can only be answered by looking at the quality of the arguments presented in behalf of each view.
I can think of many practical reasons why it is important to formulate quality arguments and to expect others to do the same. I'm not going to list them all but you know I will if pushed.
By the way. Something does come from nothing. Of course its not simple and intuitive but if you're interested you may want to read up on "quantum fluctuations".
