I agree with much of what you say, except the last paragraph. I would never discourage the study and investigation of evolution. Much, much has been learned from it, and in my opinion that lends itself to a great deal of clarification of Scripture away from literalism that results in superstitious religion IMO. The Bible and science can only complement one another if both are studied at length. Unfortunately, most people seem to focus on one or the other.
