I don't know very many people, atheist or otherwise, who believe that the universe came from "nothing." But that is in fact exactly what theists believe.
Also, how do you know that matter and energy are finite?
Also, why do you suppose human beings became sentient and developed ideas of culture, religion, afterlife and so forth? Were those ideas the result of divine inspiration by satans, leading to billions of misled people who knew not (and still know not) the Hebrew God as the True God? Or is the Hebrew version of God just one of many acceptable variations? If this isn't too personal, how do you reconcile the problems of an intelligent God's being up there somewhere with prehistoric and historic events that suggest the nine Satanic principles are more relevant than the 10 Commandments?
