It is pitiful to see theists try to defend their beliefs by looking for God in nature. This is my current position. It's based on the idea that God has the four attributes of love,wisdom,justice,power.
If he is WISE he can talk to his creatures directly.
If he is POWERFUL enough to put the universe together he ought to accompany his declarations with miracles as proof that he really is God. And by miracle I don't mean "the wonderful wonderful natural world". I mean something like curing a stadium full of down syndrome kids. Would that get my attention!!!!
If he had LOVE he wouldn't let a single generation pass without giving them direct evidence of his existence.
If he were JUST there wouldn't be so much suffering for so long.
So far all we have is words written on paper by humans who are now dead.
Science and Religion will unite when humans can add to their knowledge information that REALLY comes directly from GOD.
Theists just can't seem to understand that their extraordinary claim lacks extraordinary evidence.
