There is nothing sinister about this. Deletion of servants in the congregation - if not on grounds of wrongdoing, which will happen immediately - is normally done in conjunction with the Circuit Overseer.

If your CO's visit is some time away your letter would be discussed at a meeting of the body of elders. They may decided (depending on how you approached the matter or worded your letter) to undertake further investigation by assigning two brothers to come and meet with you - or they may have chosen to wait for the CO's visit.

Your letter will then be sent off to the Society along with the appropriate forms and when notification from the Society comes back, and announcement will be made to the congregation.

It is a process, a legalistic one.

My advice (as a former elder who has been through this process of asking to be deleted by writing a similar letter) is for you to be very careful about what you say and to whom you say it from now on.

Best wishes
Sincere
