This means I was really lucky. I was an elder many years and resigned due to a true conflict of conscience / cognitive dissonance several years ago and this was announced very soon, when the CO passed by. They wished me all the best and several weeks only mentioned that meanwhile the WTS had confirmed my stepping back. In my cong this was well received, I was quite popular and they just thought, I had too much stress in my wordly job. But in neighbouring congs rumours were spread that I was disfellowshiped :-)
I took this latter fact as a funny experience iro of true brotherly love
