answer: How does any religion come into being?
How did Mormons/Adventists/Scientologists/
"Moonies" or Hare Krishnas come into being?
Do they all have a story to tell about "divine
intervention" establishing their respective
organizations?
Religions are borne of desperation, fear and hope.
The WTS started with a mix of scripture and trendy
political/social nonsense that was big at the
turn of the century. (like pyramids and reading
bumps on your head).
Rutherford was typical of his era , a time of
fascists and demagogues. He started building up
some internal discipline, a job finished by
Knorr.
And the future? Read the stats and plot the
trends! The organization will CONTINUE to fall
apart in the advanced nations, growth will
CONTINUE to slow in the 3rd world. At this rate,
you may see the "ZERO POINT" by early 2001, when
all net publisher growth stops, worldwide.
That should wake up some people - the net
end of the preaching work, at least in terms of
growth.
The clock is ticking, they're running out of time.
