The reason for my question is that I stepped down three weeks ago and am still waiting for an announcement to be made. The elders explained that they have to write to the society and wait for their reply. This seems very odd to me since I have informed them of my decision...something quite different to requesting their permission. Do any of you have any thoughts or experiences on this?
Also, I was curious to read further down that it is no longer possible, or at least very difficult, to resign as an elder now. Why is that? Has something happened? I think some reference was made to a letter...Can somebody provide more details?
