I don't get your point. Congregations are run "independently" insofaras local choices are concerned. Brooklyn does not impose meeting hours, number of publications to order, the spatial configuration of your hall, the number of book studies, the internal decoration, etc.
You must be one hell of a congregation to come to this "agreement" to do your own thing. For anyone who has ever been an elder, your comments sound absurd and surreal. And that phrase "one of several congregations nationwide"! Many on this board, including myself, may be gullible as demonstrated in recent times (e.g. the "GB" affair), but there are certain limits. You may have your dreams of mass defection, but present them as such and let us all debate the possibility. Or, you may soon find out, you will lose honor pretty fast.
