Certainly; it happens all the time. But when they give you this incorrect information, do they tell you that God himself said it? If you question the validity of their information, do they ostracize you? If you suggest to someone else that their information may be wrong, do they convince your family members that you are evil and get all of them to shun you for the rest of your life?
More importantly, when shown with facts exactly where and how they are wrong, do they admit it, or continue spreading the falsehoods?
And if they continue to spread falsehood after being shown that it is false, are they then liars?
