Hi everyone! First of all, let me come right out and say that I'm not a Jehovah's Witness. I'm new here, and I don't want to post under false pretenses. You'd probably have found out soon enough, but I thought that I'd let you know right away.
In the past couple of weeks, I've had some JW's visiting our house. We sat down and talked a couple Saturdays ago and started going through a book called "Knowledge that Leads to Eternal Life". I'm sure that many of you are probably familiar with this book.
I've been doing some research on Jehovah's Witnesses over the past couple weeks (the internet makes it easy in this day and age), trying to take an objective look at both sides (pro and con), and I've come up with many questions that I'm hoping someone can answer. I certainly would appreciate it.
I'll start with a few fundamental questions, and I'm sure I'll eventually get into some details here and there.
My first question is:
Is it true that the Watchtower organization has, in years past, made prophecies concerning specific dates (now in the past) for Armageddon and other end times events?
If so, how does that mesh with Deuteronomy 18:20-22?
I'd be interested in hearing from anyone. Thank you very much in advance!
