Hi mntzion,
I'm happy you found what you were looking for. I also left over 20 years ago but just in the last few months began to question life and God.
I am swinging back and forth and am realizing it is a personal thing that can't be based on concrete evidence. What convinces one person will not necessarily be acceptable to another. The bible is so vague to me on so many things, and seems to contradict itself many times.
Maybe I will also find peace, I sure need to soon.
Today is my wife's birthday and I bought her roses and a gift. It felt right, so I did it and she seemed pleased. I don't have any guilt feelings over it, so maybe I'm beginning to heal from the cult influences.
I really don't think that is my problem, I just need to feel approved by the creator, whatever or whoever it is. I guess it's just a form of selfishness, I don't want to feel that this is all there is to life and I am doing what all men have done since inteligence came into existence here on earth, looking for a way out of death.
In the meantime I'll just enjoy my life as much as possible.
