Last weekend, the words of July Feuerbacher sounded very loud in my brain. A while back she wrote about leaving the Watchtower in 1984, getting rid of the clunky books, and starting a new life. Then she talked about her husband bringing all those books back into her life, as well as having to be reminded of Watchtower issues on a regular basis because her husband Alan likes to help people trapped in the Watchtower mindset by discussing such issues.

Then I thought to myself that I have also thrown out all my books back in 1995, except for my NWT Bible. (I did not know about e-Bay) I do not have the calling to help people out of the Watchtower trap. So why in the world am I visiting this board regularly and spending time reading different posts? Then it hit me. I was looking for the magic bullet that would get my parents and brothers out of the Watchtower and into a real family relationship with me. I was deceiving myself.

Last night I talked to my youngest brother, and he let me know in an oblique manner that he had become irregular (read inactive). I was surprised becuase I have NEVER badmouthed the Watchtower in front of him; nevertheless, he has come to the same conclusions I arrived several years ago. And the most beautiful part is that he himself saw the fallacies of the Watchtower, (well, his college education may have had something to do with it.)

This Thanksgiving Day I have something big for which to be thankful. My little brother is about to escape the Trap™. I wish everyone else a Happy Thanksgiving and pray that next year the shunning practice be abolished by the Watchtower leaders.
