Not to "knock on wood" but the JW Singles Forum running identical software stopped accepting moderator commands since September. Over 2 months later and many frustrating hours, and we can't get it to work. Very thankfully "the powers that be," or whomever or whatever unknown circumstances, have kept the moderator tools operational on this main forum.
There is the potential in other words for "an Hourglass problem" that could have a crippling effect. It's kind of like a light switch in a room at night, where you say "ok, we're going to use this room as a meeting place to discuss JW issues" and the light works. Then we say, "ok, on Wednesdays we will use this room for JW singles to meet," and when Wednesday night rolls around the light will not turn on. You call in an electrician and he cannot figure it out. Actually it's more insideous because the JW Singles forum will work, but without moderator control. We either take our chances (read full-scale attack) or we play it safe and close it (we chose the latter). However, those same moderator controls will function on this board.
You can see the potential for long-term problems if the problem migrates from the JW Singles BBS to this forum! :-|
