Dear H2O,
There has been a tidal wave of email as a result of the worst downtime in this site's history. I don't know where to begin considering this is a busy week. Perhaps this weekend I can sit down and sort through the many emails.
The recent crash goes to show that technology is not perfect, and like a bus full of people an ISP can blow a rod and leave everyone "stranded" for a while. There's no cyberspace version of triple-A, no automobile club to provide road service. The admins at Cyberpass have likely had several sleepless nights fixing it themselves, and deserve our appreciation.
It looks like what one sister a year or two ago once called "the theocratic version of Jurassic Park" is back in business! (I recall the scene where Laura Dern got to the circuit breakers, fired them up and exclaimed excitedly "we're back in business!" Of course we know what happened then!) In other words, T-Rex hasn't had a square meal for four days so we encourage park security to be on the lookout! ;-D
It's funny but I've been so busy, I missed all the posts from Wednesday and Thursday of last week on 11/17 and 11/18/99. I came online around noon to see the telltale signs of another "cat fight" and thought, geez, we've been offline 4 days and they're arguing again? Then I noticed the dates, and wondered where is everyone? It was a strange coincidence, but up to around noon or 1 pm pacific time, there was not one new post since 11/18/99 even though the board was up and running again.
I'm glad we're back online, and appreciate your posts of encouragement. I'll do my best to answer any topics as time permits.
Rick
