I think Jesus' speech about his eventual return, as well as his comparitive parallels to Jonah's experience indicate his knowledge of his own resurrection. John 2:19 is indicative of such awareness as well, I believe.
This of course makes the Passion narrative sort of ridiculous. Give the WTS credit; at least they can find explanations for such mysteriousness (Jesus was upset that God's good name would be tarnished.. yeah right).
Like you, I find the Socinian picture and nature of Jesus very appealing. In that manner he could be "tested in all ways like us." It doesn't require the hypostatic union or other such excusatory language for what doesn't make sense.
My only problem with the whole redemption scenario is Judas. Seems that he and not Jesus was the key element, for which it would follow that humanity (well, xtians anyway) ought to be eternally grateful for Judas' faithfully "giving up his soul in behalf of the many."
