Of course, another question arises; what does one tell a new Bible Study about WTS errors? The actual truth, selected parts of the truth or only the standard WTS line?

Where I hold serious reservations or contrary views I explain that to those I study with when it becomes an issue. If they do not bring the issues up then I do at an appropriate time. I usually do this in a question/answer format by giving/showing them opposing views and asking if they understand the ramifications of those opposing views. Usually they have questions. Questions which are impossible to answer based upon present JW teaching I tell them so (i.e., the blood policy). Teachings which are contrary to what other recognized authorities say I show it to them in our own publications (i.e., 607/1914 chronology).

After that they do the same thing you and I do, make up their mind. If they decide to become a JW then I assist them as they want it and I am able. If they decide otherwise then I have still made a new friend and most of them (if not all) feel the same way. Either way I have dispensed another seed of good news, which is my intention.

Sometimes elders have been with me on these occasions described above. I have never had one complain about my approach. Most have taken the position that it is good to prepare new ones for what lay ahead. I hug them and agree (then I look away and roll my eyes). No, seriously, many elders have taken such occasions to reveal some of their own doubts about key issues. I have found those study sessions good for both students and accompanying fellow believers because both have an opportunity to express things by having someone to listen to them. This has strengthened my standing with brothers rather than weaken it.
