I can empathize with your nostalgia, Petro. You are right that there was once a camaraderie among Witnesses for the sacrifices they(we) made and the hopes they(we) shared in what seemed like an adventure that is unlike any other denomination I know of. It certainly does not exist in the WTS today as far as I can tell. Its a different "good news" now, with a different slant on the promises. Most of the present "generation" of Witnesses are loyalists for entirely different reasons than we were IMO, and they are oblivious to the kind of excitement it was to be an "in-this-together-for-God" JW in earlier days with THE charismatic leaders spurring us on with "new light" at every district assembly. Even the songs and singing were pretty good in those days.
Alas, the greater the dream, the greater the disillusionment. One day we wake up and realize it was all for nothing. The great promises were not realized. Only the Organization profited as a "sign of Jehovah's blessing."
Yet many, even seeing it, cannot let go of it.
