Greetings to all,
I got a letter from my Catholic parish today, though I don't practice anymore I'm friends with the pastor and have not withdrawn my membership. Anyway the letter was an appeal to the members of the parish to help out with the emergency fund program. I live in an affluent (pretentious) little city but there are always the less fortunate. No matter what their beliefs (or lack of) they know to go the Catholic church for help. Boy do they ever! I have always helped out at the local pantry and have seen first hand the need. We never ask questions other than "how many people are you feeding?".
This fund mentioned in the letter helps those in need heat their homes or any other necessary help and our winters are quite brutal. There are public records of this fund too, you can see what came in and went out and where it went.
If the day ever comes where the WT puts out a letter asking for help from it's members so the WT can feed the hungry, clothe the poor and keep them warm, I'll know it is sincere. As long as all monies go to "continuing the world-wide ministry" (WT-speak for "building the publishing empire") I'll know it is simply a heartless corporation.
Again and again the RCC and the rest of Wicked Christendom makes "God's Organization" look like money-grubbing scum. Amazing, considering who is doing all the finger-pointing.
