My memories of Bro. Knorr.

During the 60s, when he visited old Gilead, we enjoyed his lecture on organization, his fellowship was warm and encouraging. The close love was very evident to all. I miss the cheese that Bro. Ryan made at the cheese house.

Later in the 60s, at the branch, Bro. Knorr's visit was exciting. He was full of fun. He could sit down with you and discuss your paticular problem and make some practical suggestions. He told me one day to master what your taught before you make suggestions. A funny moment was when he was teaching the houssekeeping sisters how to shine the floor with cleaning rags tied to their feet. Laughing he said "If everybody could do this here at Bethel, we'd not have to worry about the floors." "We could just leave the cleaning rags at the door and the brothers could slip them on when entering". He did quite a dance demonstrating the whole idea.

I know that there were "not so good moments" for him and others, but I like to think of his good times. With all that responsibility, he proved to be a person that I respected, not for his position but for himself.

Sadly, the last time that I saw Bro. Knorr was at a Disrict Assembly in Denver. Things had changed much for him, especially his health. There in the parking lot, by chance we ran into each other. He was very upset and seemed lost, it was evident that his mind was confused, he would not stand still but was wondering around the parking area, telling everyone he had forgotten where his car was parked.
It broke my heart.

Many have served to best of their abilities with the WT. They have been unusal. Younger ones do not always know how much was sacrificed for the WT.
I don't think it was all bad. I am glad that the final judgement is with Jehovah.

Petro
