It's been my experience that it doesn't take more than a minute or thereabouts to post a notice of deletion. Since board policy is that moderators will give notice of all deleted posts (with the understandable exception of duplicates), I think if you have time to be reading posts, realizing they need deletion, switching over to your moderator link, entering your name and password, loading in the list and locating the offending post, and then waiting for the result to be reported to you, then you have time to post the notice. If you don't have time to post the notice, then you have no business deleting the post. Wait until you do have time to post the notice, and then delete it.
