But the answer is easy. Let's just say Babylon the Great is the "Illuminati" just for example. The Mysteries were the same pagan "Mother Goddess" worship of Isis, Ishtar, Artemis, Astarte, etc. which is also the basis of the ancient Egyptian Mysteries which is the basis of modern secret societies such as Freemasons and the Illuminati.
The pyramid was thought to be the dwelling place of the god of light, the "Illuminator", "Lucifer" himself.
So in that sense Babylon, the Great, this "mystery" woman has been around for centuries and has used it's influence in the world via various means to persecute true Christians, etc.
Only now, some branches of this cultic mysteries religion have started to wield its influence over the U.N. through control of world finance. So when the U.N. turns on her, the result is bankruptcy of its financial institutions likely and in this sense the U.N. destroys her completely by exposing her. Perhaps key members will be brought up on criminal charges as well, say for international espionage, drug trafficking, or whatever. You can only imagine. Even if half of its true you know the lawyers will make up the other half.
So thanks for bringing this up. You should think of the ancient CULT as behind the front organizations which control the money which in turn influences the U.N.'s policies and finance its world organizations.
So think of their major power of influence being via finance and that influence being taken away from them. They are not the financial institution themselves, but the cultic influence BEHIND the organizations.
And that is why she is called a "mystery" and that is why the scene is depicted in the "wilderness" which means it is underground.
Note that when the woman gives birth to the kingdom, she flies where? Into the "wilderness" which is also "out of the sight of the dragon."
So likely, because of the influence of secret cultic societies, the actual gathering of the anointed ones once Christ arrived was decided to be done in total secrecy so that Satan's organizations couldn't have undue influence on disrupting this process until it got well underway. That is, until this new and fragile group of anointed ones were fed for 42 months, after which they could sustain the river of propaganda disgorged by Satan to drown her.
Had this organization been in the open, Satan and his organization could have easily targeted these individuals and disrupted their progress. So Jehovah thought about that and since Babylon the Great had been so successful, both via its public and secret organizations, the "new wine" organization was developed in total secrecy. So it all makes sense.
Good question though.
So the SIMPLE answer is simply that you should consider Babylon the Great the "Illuminati" and not the "Trilateral" Corporation or whatever. Not saying I know there is a connection nor am I claiming there is. When the U.N. moves against the corporate holdings of the secret cult-driven Illuminati, it virtually destroys its world influence and that is what is depicted in Revelation. But the secret mysteries has been around for centuries, it is an ancient cult from ancient Babylon and has a long record of killing the prophets, even back to the time of ancient Israel.
It's the same "mother goddess" and Satanic worship back then as now. It even influenced getting the pagan book of the "Song of Solomon" into the Bible's canon and it is about Artemis. See below.
