Though the internet wasn't available to the masses when I decided to leave, I believe the internet and finding this site has been instrumental to my healing process. The contact we're able to have with others who've been down that same road just wouldn't be possible without the internet, that's for sure. It provides a safe haven for sharing experiences that are often much too painful or awkward to discuss face-to-face with someone, even though they may have been through the same experience. During the 15 years I've been out I've only met one other person in my area who is an ex-witness, and I know that number's got to be much higher! *L*.
