Babylonish religion and in particular "Babylon the Great" comes in more forms than formal religion.
Based upon the vision of Babylon, the Great which is seen in the "wilderness", Babylon the Great must be a secret, underground influence on the U.N. I agree with you that there is clearly no Vatican control over the U.N.
But you only need to search the net under "illuminati" to see the volumes of data claiming the "Illuminati" and it's cover organizations are secretly controlling the world and the U.N. through control of finance. Of note, however, the demise of Babylon the Great when she is destroyed by the U.N. was the mourning of her my the merchants. So Babylon the Great is definitely a commercial influence over the U.N.
But how does make her the "mystery", Babylon the Great? It's because the "Illuminati" is connected directly with the ancient "Mysteries" religion. They are connected with the Freemasons and the Freemasons are a version of the secret societies that comes out of the ancient mysteries.
So there you have it. The direct Babylonish ancient religion connection to secret cultic body that is now allegedly influencing the U.N. not via open religion but through religious-backed commercial influence. But isn't it obvious if you manipulate the world into getting into your debt and becoming dependent upon you for their survival through financial bail-out that is essentially having them under your control.
So Babylon the Great is not open organized religion which, as you have noticed has waning to zero influence in the world today. But the secret manipulation of behind the scenes financing by the "Illuminati" or some other secret Babylon-mysteries based organizations is a reality, and that is who fulfills Babylon, the Great.
So we can expect that when the U.N. gets tired of being manipulated by the financial world, which according to Rutherford in his "Declaration" to Hitler is primarily run by the Jewish industrialists and bankers, then we know Armageddon is to immediately follow.
Of note, though is that the Bible prophesied about some secret cultic influence via finance over the U.N. and that is exactly what the "Illuminati" is being accused of, so we have the prophetic situation in place. And no problem connecting the Illuminati with the "Mysteries" which is also the name of Babylon, the Great.
So the prphetic stage is set! That would be the thing to watch for as the critical event leading directly into Armageddon!
Remember: Babylon the Great is seen in the "wilderness" so she is not an open and public organization but a behind-the-scenes financial influence over the U.N. And of note, it is not hard to connect the Illuminati with Jehovah's Witnesses, the Freemasons and the Jews. Even Hitler lumped the Jews and Jehovah's witnesses together, remember, his main complaint about them being secretly financed by the Jews. It had nothing to do with their beliefs. It was purely political.
So heads up! The idea that "Babylon the Great" is open organized religion needs to be revised. It is the "Illuminati" or some other secret financial influence of the U.N. operating under cover.
