Hi. I also stumbled onto Randy's site. I got on the internet because I purchased a NIV at Costco and in the front they have a timeline. I noticed it said Jerusalem fell in 586 not 607. I had also been questioning the blood doctrine when my brother-in-law who is on the liaison committee told me that we were allowed to accept fractions. When I asked him, "Isn't a fraction of something the same thing? We cannot say that we do not accept blood when we do." I thought something was fishy when his only response to me was, "Well then if it bothers YOUR conscience you better not receive fractions either." After that I looked up every article the society had ever published about blood and I discovered that they had condemned organ transplants as cannibalism too. So I got on the internet and I haven't been to a meeting in 10 months. I will never ever go back.
I think more and more people will "disobey" the society and get on the internet. Their answers are so bogus. My sister asked her elders why we accept blood fractions and the answer they gave her was, "It's like not being able to eat chocolate cake but you can eat eggs and sugar separately."
My sister is pretty closed minded right now and she swallowed that heap of garbage. But she is a different type of witness. Most witnesses are not like her. Her conscience is very strong and she is completely loyal to the society even when no one is looking. I don't think the majority of witnesses are like that anymore. At least I haven't met anyone else like that. They may be organization-minded and loyal but in private every witness I know isn't loyal in all the little stuff. Even the strong ones have rated R movies in their homes. And look at all the ones like Fred Hall who post here disobeying the society. I'm sure there are lots of lurkers. Good for them! I hope they discover the old men in Brooklyn are nothing but the Wizard of Oz hiding behind a little curtain barking out orders. I am so glad I am out!
