Thank you for your thoughtful, detailed response. I think your analysis is correct. There are troubles ahead thank to the free flow of information.

I tend to think the WTS will eventually move to a more liberal stance, though it may take a while, even a decade or two. In the meantime, I expect them to clamp down harder and harder, resulting in more and more losses.

I saw that Prominent Bethelite has predicted that next year the Society will endorse a JW-customized Net blocking program for use by the brothers. The idea being that no site referencing "Jehovah" will be allowed, other than the official WTS web sites. I don't know if this rumor will come true, but if it does it will be interesting to see the reaction of the rank&file.
