Your contention may be correct but non-the-less, the event of Armegeddon as I see the Witnesses describe it in their "post Armegeddon" speculation certainly would not qualify as have come as a Thief. Recall in other scripture the thief (returned Christ) would be in the house and the owner not even aware of it, even having left without the owner knowing he'd been there. Seems to me there is a high probablilty that the idea of Jesus ruling invisibly is a long stretch to explain this. The event of Armegeddon, if one accepts the JW theology, is an event of such catastrophic proportions that equating to a thief that comes and goes without it being known seems a contradiction.

Just my partial take on the subject.
