Unfortunatly one of the hardest things in life to learn is that no one can make another do what they are not ready for. It is a desision he must make on his own and no amount of cohersion will make him see the truth untill he is ready. You are fighting a battle that is not your own and will most certainly loose. If you do convince him, and he is not ready there are concequences that may follow that you may not want to deal with.
Think about it before you do anything, it may be better for you both to continue to love each other despite differing opinions and just let this one lie for now.
