As far as the organizations history - I probably know more than was ever written by either side of this contorversial subject. You see - family knows much being in this mess since late 1800's.
Maybe that is why they always taught each successive generation three things:
1: Don't be mere yes men - Make the Bible your own rather than following the edicts of any organization.
2: The WTBTS is only a tool we use, never to become our government - that is only Jesus' place and this through the entire GB which is the whole Bride in union with Jesus Christ.
3: Accept only that which aligns with the scriptures fully, even from WTBTS teachings - fellowship with them as JW's but never be ruled by them as Kept Men - Jehovah detests Kept men.
I see many such kept men dropping from fellowship with JW's as well as from our form of public ministry. Too bad these still make the organization thier prime topic of concern.
I feel they have exchanged the frying pan for the fire and either way were never real JW's. Perhaps I'm wrong but I still believe the JW's are the only ones who are as a world wide group are performing the door to door ministry.
One must to remain in good standing as a JW - now this does not just mean door to door either. Rather I make that statement out of habitual mention of the door-to-door ministry I was raised with.
Instead what I really mean is the 24 hour per day way of Christian behavior where taking time to share and care for our neighbors is second only to our love for Jehovah himself. This means much more than mere door to door ministry though for many this too remains an activity that we consider blessed by Jehovah - it makes us feel like we are doing Jesus' bidding.
Seems to me the constitution of this country allows for the persuit of life and liberty, even of personal joy, so long as we don't step roughshod over anothers liberty or equal rights. That is what real down to the earth JW's, in fact all real Christians are just this.
As for the Governing body - I actually wish they would indeed all post here - answering for their behavior as a group over the many years since Judge Rutherford took over the reigns of control.
The organization teaches judgement from that time forward and that is what true Christian alignment with Christ was to have dropped. This is what I know but still I also know that thier time is coming but by Jehovah's hand and not yours!
If he wants to keep the WTBTS as a tool he will, if he wants it reformed - it will be. If he chooses instead to now use it for a dishonorable purpose, that too is his alone to do.
Real JW's will go on serving not the WTBTS but following Jesus and completing the preaching and teaching work using primarily the Bible alone for they are making it thier own just as told to do!
