Hi mntzion,
I didn't make this up! It's in the Bible.
The Bible suggests the good would benefit from the riches of the wicked, and specifically, apparently the last confrontation which the attack of Gog of Magog on Israel says that Israel won't have to use any firewood for seven years because of the weapons confiscated from Gog of Magog and his crowd. I'm presuming this means supplies in general. Also, the specific destruction says that Jehovah will cause them to fight against themselves and they will end up killing themselves. So even in that sense, there seems to be no indication of catastrophic destruction even though it does say that Jehovah will rain down.
But ultimately it sounds like there will just be a lot of dead bodies lying out in the open of which the birds and beats would feast upon.
So as I said, while one might try to imagine Armageddon as a total destructio of the world's infrastructure going into the New Order, the Bible doesn't support that and suggests that perhaps there will be massive killing but not necessarily massive destruction. If every man's hand is against his brother I suppose it means that you could drop an atomic device here and an atomic device there, but it could just as well be massive killings by hand guns and oozies, which would be hard on the population but light on the infrastructures.
And wouldn't it be grand for God to leave things pretty much intact rather than destroy everything?
Of course, if he selectively destroyed the churches and pagan temples that would be okay. Maybe all the people will run into their temples and they will kill each other in a mad rage and die in places of worship which will also crumble in a massive earthquake, leasing everything else intact.
Plus, how will Jehovah protect the righteous if there is a massive flood or earthquake?
Also another scripture says "one will be taken, one will be left" out of two in the field or two near a millstone. So that is quite consistent with one dropping dead with no structural damage.
So anyway, rather than a massively destroyed world that would take years to rebuild with a limited population, I prefer to think that the majority of the infrastructure and buildings and homes and everythiing else will be left intact. So it would just be a matter of moving to a nicer neighborhood and a bigger house.
The only problem I see is the rush on the malls to get at CD equipment and the like, or the clothes you like. But then again, since likely many of the wicked will likely be wealthy, the whole world will be a big shopping center because you get to pick and choose from everything they have accummulated as well! So it could be just moving into a fabulously furnished place with all the gadgets you ever imagined. No maid service so you'd have to have some room mates, but who cares. The pool swims 20!
It's going to be great. Believe me. Without having to go from door to door, besides the weekly Bible studies, most of our attention will be focused on
SHOPPING!
Cheers,
