That's all I'm saying. That is, if you are going to multiply the couples of unclean by seven then you must do likewise for the unclean, no?
But I have no problem with those numbers, either four and fourteen or two and seven work for me. Since there is a possibility of a language gap here it wouldn't ge an issue of contradiction to me. But I wonder if the Jews understood the reference to "sevens" to mean seven individual animals for seven pairs.
My only point is that if you increase the clean animals to fourteen then you must increase the unclean animals to four, the two and seven referring to the pair and not individual animals.
