There is no problem with the BIBLE's chronology happening on time. But you must separate the WTS' doctrines from those of specific scripture.
So you're right, it is "put up or shut up" for the Christians who believe in the end. But fortunately, those with the right chronology have put up the hard facts and proven the Bible to be true.
What you need to correct in your own or the Witness concepts is:
1) That the "great tribulation" was to be completely over before the Messiah even arrives. (Matthew 24:29). It was fulfilled because it was the HOLOCAUST.
2) You must understand that the concept the WTS gives is that the "end of the system of things" is the end of the world, but it is not! It is merely the "end of the era" of the "appointed times of the nations." (Luke 21:24) Simply put, when the Messiah arrives in kingdom power, kicking Satan out of Heaven, he appears in the flesh on the earth, being the one with the "legal right" to rule and thus he ends a period of time when there is no legal heir to the Judean throne on the earth. Thus the so-called "gentile times" ends when the Messiah arrives. The "end" in this case is not the end of the world. So to get the fulfillment correct, you must get the prophecy correct.
3) The WTS, of course, has the wrong dating. Per the BIBLE's interpretation that Cyrus fulfilled the 70-weeks prophecy, and this is just one of the options, it would date his 1st year in 455BCE and thus the fall of Jerusalem in 529BCE versus 607BCE. That means the END should have come, that is, the "end of the gentile times" should have come in 1992.
That fulfills the Bible's obligation to bring about the "end" and the Second Coming before a generation would expire after a world war. That is, before 1994, 80 years after 1914. Of course, 1992 falls within that generation.
So the END has already come. The Messiah began to reign in kingdom power since 1992, in fact, since December 26, 1992, and members of the JIOR witnessed the private "sign of the Son of man" in the clouds.
Therefore, the Bible's chronology was completely and accurately fulfilled! Even the 1335 days of Daniel 12 was completely fulfilled since 1992 is also 45 years after 1947 when the Jews began to return to Palestine, another dated prophecy that matches up with the Second Coming. So you have double fulfillment for 1992.
Of course, if one doesn't pay close attention to the scriptures and insists upon revised dating for events in the ancient past, it would seem that the Bible isn't being fulfilled. But for those with the correct understanding and dating, they got to see the fulfillment of all the Bible's chronology, including the promised "END of the system of things" of the gentile times in 1992 and the appearance of the "sign of the Son of man" in the clouds.
Those with the wrong understanding and dating, of course, also as prophesied, missed this and thus the Messiah has come as a thief for them, as prophesied. They didn't notice his coming.
The Bible's chronology is true.
All was fulfilled.
Know this.
Cheers,
Bibleman
P.S. I still wonder how people can discuss things like this and ignore scripture. Would you mind sharing with me what you think the "great tribulation" is or was, keeping in mind it is totally over before the Messiah arrives according to Matthew 24:29? To me, since this tribulation was aimed at "Judea" I think it was the HOLOCAUST. What are you saying it is? And when are you saying the "gentile times" must end?
Thanks for your comments.
Also, who are you saying fulfilled the 70-weeks prophecy? 1st of Cyrus, or 20th of Artaxerxes? That's the key to what date you assign to the fall of Jerusalem per the Bible, and of course, the date for the "END" of the gentile times. If you have that prophecy incorrect, then your dating will be correct.
Thanks for your reply.
