AP/GS:
You are "giving" scholarship a bad name. As an academic researcher and writer, I am troubled by your unwillingness to concede you are in error vis-a-vis your support (whitewashed) of the Society's 1975 position despite Gedanken's direct quote from the WT that disproves your interpretive analyses.
Why can't you state simply that "I was wrong." I do not think anyone will pillory you for it. Contradistinctively, you persistence will further erode your credibility and render any future statements unworthy of serious intellectual consideration/debate, except critically.
Think, man! The debate has already been lost. Acknowledge, and move on. If you must, modify/revise your book by inserting a disclaimer. Or write a follow-up article indicating that after conducting further research on the WTBS, you have received information which clarifies or casts doubt on some of your conclusions. (Hey, you can sugarcoat it any way you wish!) Blame the Society for providing you with prejudicial information, if you must.
