I don’t believe that Ros made a definite claim one way or another. Ros presented the correspondence from the “GB” based solely on the possibility that it could be genuine which is a very different thing than saying in effect “You have my solemn word that this is the real thing so help me God!”
If you are disappointed, I sympathize, but I also sympathize with Ros for ending up in a “damned if you do” – “damned if you don’t” situation over this.
