Maybe I have my doubts about you. You call yourself Liberal Elder, yet the Watchtower encourages all but particularly Elders not to be suspicious of others and doubt their motives. This is a reasonable recommendation from the WT based on Christ's law of love for one another. How come you set it aside when it comes to matters on the web?
As to your other comments on building consensus within the body, I find that laughable, in my years as an Elder, I can honestly say that attending the Elders meetings were the unhappiest moments in my life. I dreaded them. The bible was seldom used, secular items came at the top of the list before the spirituality or probelms of the Brothers, and the men I served with in general favoured their own opinions and preferences over scriptural or even WT recommendations. Also, why on earth would I want to stay on a body, within their influence if it were dangerous for me to do so? Surely the wise course of action is to leave or withdraw, which I seem to remember Christ doing on occasion.
