The hostility you are seeing from the members of JW’s has been carefully placed there by the organization itself. With jargon like "Learn to Hate" those who disagree with the organization and the constant threat of being hated themselves, their defenses fly up at a moments notice. In a study article from the 1993 Watchtower the society effectively hones in one those disagreeing with the organization as haters of Jehovah, saying that True Christians hate those "wrongdoers" and loath them as they have made themselves enemies of Jehovah God. The article compares those who disagree with the organization as one who "Intensely hate Jehovah". It’s a very effective tool.
