Hi Honhea,
As I understand it, they don't see the 144,000 as being mediators, though they do see them "rendering" the blessings of the ransom sacrifice of Christ somehow. That is not how I understood it when I was in. I have never been able to get any of them to explain just how they view it in a way that I understood. It is one of those foggy areas that they mention and never delve into. As with their explanation for the 7000 year creative day, they want it to be this way so "it would be reasonable to assume" that Jehovah does too. See the thread above where they are all disposing of the corpses and dividing the loot and devising a way to tap the throne of God as a literal power source and you will get a good view of how the WatchTower Trained Mind works. WatchTower Math and their version of christian love can be a real comedy whose humor they are unable to appreciate due to their own arrogance. It is a hoot to read unless of course you still have loved ones who think these pompous buffoons actually have an inside track to the Creator.
Forgive the longwinded explanation. No, they don't pray through the 144,000, but through Jesus. This despite the Society's saying he is not their Mediator, but the mediator of "friends" of theirs using the lawyer analogy they put forth.
Alive or dead they don't see the 144,000 as hearing prayers to my knowledge. Though this, as all other doctrines, is subject to change in a flash of light.
What is your connection to this group?
Tantalus
