I fully understand your frustration and appreciate your honesty. Having been taught that attitude from infancy, I well know where it comes from. Really, it stems from the Society itself, as can be seen from some pictures in the old Paradise book, which has become of late almost a stereotype of this attitude. Most people have to stand back from their learned JW attitudes for some time before they realize how wrong this gleeful attitude is.
Actually this having to stand back to see the big picture is very general. It applies to anyone who leaves a controlling organization. The farther back I've stood from the Witness mentality the more I've seen how unchristian and inhuman it can often be. Sure, the Witnesses as individuals are usually fine people, but their unquestioning acceptance of attitudes that they would condemn in others that makes many of them hypocrites. The fact that a few JWs like you, like lone voices crying in the wilderness, work against these attitudes only shows that you're battling against the organization itself. I wish it were different.
